Fundraising Committees

The Beauvoir Benefit, a beloved annual community event, is the school’s largest fundraising event of the year. All Benefit proceeds go to the Beauvoir Scholarship Fund, which provides qualifying families with tuition assistance. From November until the night of the big event, there are many ways to be involved, including volunteering to solicit item donations for the auction, helping with class art projects, assisting with the event, and much more.

The Book Fair is a three-day event that offers the community an opportunity to peruse and purchase from a phenomenal selection of children’s literature, handpicked for Beauvoir’s readers. Many volunteers are needed to assist in setting up and restocking the Book Fair, as well as working as cashiers and selection volunteers.

The Cathedral Flower Mart is a two-day festival, held on the Cathedral grounds. Volunteers are needed to organize and run the children’s games and to sell tickets for games and rides. All proceeds go to All Hallows Guild, the non-profit entity that maintains and beautifies the Cathedral Close gardens and grounds.

The Logo Committee designs, orders, and sells Beauvoir logo items to the community via its website. Volunteers help design new merchandise, write creative product descriptions and sale promotion copy, and will help sell merchandise during in-person sales. All proceeds support Beauvoir’s PA.

Service Committees

The Service Learning Committee, in collaboration with Beauvoir’s chaplain, Reverend Barrowclough, and other faculty and staff, plans and coordinates service projects throughout the year that are age-appropriate for Beauvoir’s students. Activities and projects have included collecting clothing, books, and other necessities.

Parents volunteer to celebrate Beauvoir’s faculty and staff during a special appreciation week.

The Kaleidoscope Committee includes Beauvoir’s affinity groups and collaborates with the school to plan events to affirm and support the Beauvoir community in conversations related to diversity and inclusion. All parents are welcome and encouraged to support Kaleidoscope’s programming as volunteers and active participants.

Library aides assist Beauvoir’s librarians in keeping the library updated and organized. Tasks include checking in books, organizing and shelving books, and plastic wrapping new additions to the library’s collection.

The Parent Education Committee collaborates with the school to research, plan, and organize school-wide events related to parenting and early childhood education. Events may include guest speakers and smaller gatherings for parents to connect and discuss parenting and education issues.

Room helpers assist teachers in each class to help organize activities throughout the school year including class parties, sign-ups, the Beauvoir Benefit class art project, and other special activities. Each classroom typically has at least two room helpers, who communicate monthly with parents about upcoming classroom and school events.

Third Grade Events volunteers organize Beauvoir’s Third Grade Fun Day, which takes place in late May/June. Many parent volunteers are needed to ensure this event is a success for Beauvoir’s graduating class.

Welcome Committee members work with Beauvoir Admissions to welcome new families by hosting new family playdates. Committee members also provide information about school and community events to new families and are available to talk and meet with these families at any time during the year.
